Competition Rules & Regulations

General Rules

- There is a strict time limit of 5 minutes per act.

- Substances which alter the condition of the stage for other competitors are prohibited (e.g. tossing sparkles, baby powder, water/liquid, body paint, etc.). If it cannot be easily swept off the stage, it should not be put on the stage.

- Dangerous props such as live animals and/or any performances which contain fire or pyrotechnic devices, guns, explosives, swords and/or knives etc. are also prohibited. Special circumstances may apply, please contact us for an exception to this rule. 

- Participants grant Kitchissippi Productions Inc the right to use their image, likeness, actions, and statements in any live or recorded audio, video, or photographic display or other transmission, exhibition, publication, or reproduction made of, or at, the Event in any medium or context for commercial or promotional purposes without further authorization or compensation.

- Kitchissippi Productions Inc. holds the discretion to modify the competition rules at any given time and for any reason.

- Participants agree to release, indemnify, and hold harmless Kitchissippi Productions Inc, its officers, directors, employees, volunteers, agents, and sponsors from any and all claims, demands, or causes of action that are in any way connected with their participation in the Event, or any related activities, including any such claims which allege negligent acts or omissions of Kitchissippi Productions Inc. 

- Kitchissippi Productions Inc retains the authority to change the event's location or date in the event of unforeseen circumstances. We also maintain the prerogative to cancel the competition if an insufficient number of entries are received or if an insufficient number of tickets are sold. No compensation will be provided to participants should the event be cancelled or changed. 

Online Audition Rules

- Online auditions should be uploaded to Youtube (can be unlisted, but not private). A Youtube link must be provided.

- Auditions close on January 15th 2026.

- Your audition must showcase the talent you would perform at the finale. For example, you can't submit an audition of you doing magic tricks, if you're going to go on stage and sing.

Grand Finale Rules

- All backing tracks/music files are required to be submitted in MP3 format at least 3 weeks prior to the competition. Upload instructions will be provided to participants. 

- Limited audio technical items are available by the venue. Please contact us if you are a musical group and require certain items.

- Any additional equipment must be provided by the contestants at their own expense and our production team must be made aware. 
- Audio mixing must be done by our technical team.

- Limited stage lighting effects are available and must be arranged with our lighting technician.

- Each act is limited to 5 minutes.

- If an act goes over the time limits, their score will automatically be reduced by 4%. If the act runs more than 1 minute over, they will be 'adjudicated only' and will not be eligible for any discipline or overall awards.
- Limited time is available for setup for each act. Coordination with our stage manager is necessary for complicated sets/musical equipment, etc.

- All performers must be in attendance for the awards presentation.

- Performers are responsible to ensure they are backstage in time for their act. We recommend checking in with the stage manager 3 acts before your own.

- Performers are permitted to watch the show, however they must purchase a ticket to enter the auditorium space.

Judges will score each act using the following scoring system:

Artistry, Creativity & Originality — 25%

Performance & Entertainment Value — 25%

Execution & Technique — 25%

Costuming & Apperance — 25%

Overall Awards:

1st Place — $1000 Cash Prize

2nd Place — $250 Cash Prize

3rd Place — $150 Cash Prize

Special Awards:

Top Score - Artistry, Creativity & Originality

Top Score - Performance & Entertainment Value

Top Score - Execution & Technique
Top Score - Costuming & Apperance

Audience Choice Award:

Winner - $150.00 Cash Prize

Runner-Up - $50.00 Cash Prize

** The Audience Choice Award will be voted by the audience during the live event.
